November–March is the season for kiteboarding and windsurfing in Baja. The two main destinations for these sports are Los Barriles [1], on the East Cape, and Bahía de la Ventana [2], southeast of La Paz. Which one you choose depends on your level of experience and what kind of post-recreation scene you prefer.
La Ventana generally provides more consistent conditions and a safe place for beginners to learn, with rustic accommodations (camping or casitas) in a more remote setting. The stronger winds at Los Barriles appeal to advanced kiters and sailors. Los Barriles also is more developed as a tourist town, with a broader mix of accommodations and restaurants.
