Dolphin Discovery (end of Carr. Sac Bajo, tel. 998/849-4748, toll-free Mex. tel. 800/713-8862, www.dolphindiscovery.com [1], US$69–169) offers various dolphin interaction programs on Isla Mujeres [2]’s calm western shore.
Programs vary in price according to the amount and type of direct interaction; the Royal Swim (US$129 pp, 60 minutes) is the most interactive, with two dolphins per group of 10 people doing a “dorsal tow,” “foot push,” and “kiss,” plus some free swim time.
Visitors also interested in swimming with manatees and sea lions have the opportunity to do so in the Sea Life Discover Plus program (US$169, 1.5 hours).
Most visitors come from Cancún [3] on Dolphin Discovery’s private ferry, though you can just show up on your own. Reservations are required.
