At Palguín Bajo, east of Pucón [1], Kila Leufú is a working Mapuche farm that offers horseback-riding trips, the chance to participate (or not) in farm activities, a ruca for socializing, and accommodations, all at reasonable prices. Half-day horseback rides cost US$28 per person, while full-day rides cost US$37 per person.
Kila Leufú (tel. 099/7118064, www.kilaleufu.cl [2]) is 23 kilometers east of Pucón [1] on the Curarrehue road, just beyond the Cabedañe bridge and the Termas de Palguín turnoff. Camping costs US$6.50 per person with breakfast. Comfortable accommodations with shared bath cost US$12–13 per person with breakfast, while rooms with private bath cost US$16 per person.
