Lago Blanco

Some 50 kilometers southwest of Onaisín [1], the road passes through Camerón, an erstwhile estancia that is now a picture-postcard municipality. It then angles southeast to Lago Blanco, an area known for its fishing and, until recently, a speculative and controversial project for native forest exploitation by the U.S.-based Trillium Corporation.

In summer, there’s a bumpy border crossing to Río Grande, Argentina, via a dirt road with many livestock gates and a ford of the Río Rasmussen. The Argentine border post is called Radman.
