HOURS: Daily 5:30 p.m.-midnight
On its first floor, Bistrot Lepic is a quintessential French neighborhood dining spot, one that has been recognized for excellence by the critics of Bon Appétit and Town & Country magazines.
Upstairs is the restaurant wine bar, opened in 2002 and greeted with great fanfare, the first of its kind in the city. The small space seats 50, an Asian-inspired room of rattan furniture and coconut-inlay tables touched with French accents such as bright floral oil paintings, gilt mirrors, and stained glass lamps.
The wine bar features roughly 20 wines—all French—by the glass as well as a full menu, from “appeteasers” like escargot and onion tart to French bistro fare, including cassoulet and coquilles Saint-Jacques.
On Tuesday 6-8 p.m., the wine bar hosts complimentary tastings; Wednesday 7-10 p.m. is live music night, and happy hour is every day (except Tuesday) 5:30-7 p.m., with half-price wines.
