One floor down from M on the Bund [2] restaurant is Glamour Bar, a kitschy yet elegant cocktail lounge with thoughtfully mismatched furniture and Moroccan-style colored crystal glasses.

You’ll pay top brass for a cocktail, but it’s worth it for the atmosphere alone. And, the view from the antique-framed windows is second to none. Even the toilets are immaculately designed. This bar cares about style and it shows in the details: The bar’s lips logo crops up on the matchboxes.

Glamour is Shanghai’s most literary bar, too; it hosts regular book events, including the annual Shanghai International Literary Festival [3] in March.
