Canopy Tour

As in many tropical regions of Central America, there has been a widespread proliferation of so-called canopy tours, or zip lines between elevated platforms in the jungle. La Ruta del Mono (8 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, canopymonoruta [at] yahoo [dot] com, $30) is one of three canopy tours found in Petén and is conveniently near the ruins of Yaxhá [1], about five kilometers along the main road heading west toward Ixlú. It was featured on Survivor Guatemala.
