Though the sport is common in the Cordillera Blanca [1], the unstable conditions and lack of equipment rental shops in Huaraz [2] require that nearly all paragliders be experienced and bring their own equipment.
The most common launching spots are Pan de Azúcar, a round hill near Yungay [3], and the Cordillera Negra [4], though European daredevils can often be seen chucking themselves off snow peaks as well.
