The private, volunteer Centro Cultural Vallartense periodically sponsors theater, modern dance, painting, sculpture, aerobics, martial arts, and other courses for adults and children. From time to time it stages exhibition openings for local artists, whose works it regularly exhibits at the gallery/information center at Plaza del Arte on Isla Río Cuale.
For more information, look for announcements in the events pages of Vallarta Today or the Vallarta Tribune, or drop by and talk to the volunteer in charge at the Plaza del Arte gallery and information center, at the upstream end of Isla Río Cuale.
Sharing the Plaza del Arte is the Centro Cultural Cuale building and adjacent classrooms, where, late weekday afternoons, you may hear the strains of students practicing the violin, guitar, piano, flute, and pre-Columbian instruments. Such lessons are open to the general public; apply in person during the late afternoon or early evening.
