Puerto Vallarta [1]’s best department stores are Comercial Mexicana and locally owned Supermarket Gutiérrez Rizo. Comercial Mexicana’s newest local branch is the Megastore (tel. 322/222-7708 or 222-7709, 7 a.m.–10 p.m. daily), on the Malecón [2] a quarter mile south of the Hotel Sheraton. The other branch is at Plaza Marina (Km 6.5, Hwy. 200, a few blocks south of the airport, beneath the McDonald’s sign, tel. 322/221-0053 or 322/221-0490, open same hours).
