Guayabitos [1]’s spot for romantics is Vista Guayabitos restaurant (noon–10 p.m. daily) on the south edge of town. Little has been spared to afford a perfect spot to enjoy a refreshment and/or snack and the breezy panoramic view of Guayabitos’s curving cloud-tipped shoreline. Follow the south road to Los Ayala; at the big hilltop curve, follow the driveway on the right steeply uphill.
Although Guayabitos is a resort for those who mostly love peace and quiet, a few nightspots, findable by the noise they emanate, operate along Avenida del Sol Nuevo. One of the liveliest and longest-lasting is Charley’s live music cabaret, at the corner of Tabachines, and the big, booming dance club at the corner of Avenida del Sol Nuevo and Jacarandas (from around 9 p.m. most nights, especially Fridays and Saturdays).
If oldies but goodies are your thing, the Bavarian Garden restaurant offers live ’40s through ’70s tunes and country music for dancing, 7–9 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays during the November–May high season.
