If you’re interested in what makes bullfighting so popular in Mexico, catch a corrida (literally, a running) at the Plaza de Toros (Calle 72 at Calle 33). Unless you want to work on your tan, opt for the premium sombra (shade) seats—the extra charge is worth every bead of sweat you save.
Tickets are available at the bullring’s box office the day of the event or from a table that’s set up in front of the Olimpo—they cost between US$3.50–35 depending on the caliber of the bullfighter. Look around the Plaza de la Independencia [1] for posters advertising the next corrida or ask at the tourist office for more information.
