About 60 kilometers (37 miles) north of Campeche City [1] on Highway 180 toward Mérida [2], the small town of Hecelchakán has some fine sculptures and Jaina [3] burial art at the Museo Arqueológico del Camino Real.
The hours are supposedly 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 4–7 p.m. Tuesday–Saturday, and 4–7 p.m. Sunday, but the place never seems to be open.
Fortunately, a large part of the collection is displayed in a small garden along the street and is perfectly visible through the fence.
