The amusements along the adoquín mall are Puerto Escondido [1]’s prime after-dinner entertainment source. By around 9 p.m., some people get weary of walking and, since there are few benches, begin sitting on the curb and sipping bottles of beer near the west-end chain.
The main attraction of curb-sitting is watching other people sitting on the curb, while listening to the music blasting nightly from the open-air bars of Blue Station and Wipe Out, nearby. The music is so loud that little can be gained except hearing impairment by actually taking a seat in the bars themselves.
For those who prefer to gyrate to the beat of adoquín discos, besides Wipe Out and Blue Station, go to the Los Tres Diablos in the middle of the adoquín across from the Hotel Las Palmas.
For softer musical offerings, check out the guitarists who play evenings at the Hotel Santa Fe Restaurant Bar, and/or the El Son y La Rumba nightclub, with Mayka Y Amigos, entertaining nightly in season, also on the adoquín.
