East Falkland

East Falkland still has the Falkland Islands [1]’ best road network, though little beyond town is paved. The best is the Stanley-Mount Pleasant Highway, which links the capital with the airport, continuing to Darwin and Goose Green [2], but even this is mostly gravel and requires caution.

From Pony’s Pass, about eight miles west of town on this route, the North Camp Road leads to Estancia, where it forks north to Port Louis [3] and Johnson’s Harbour [4], and west to Teal Inlet, Douglas Station, and Port San Carlos [5]. Rental cars may not be taken off-road.
