Big-league lovers will find fun in San Francisco [1] and around the Bay Area [1].

The MLB’s San Francisco Giants (http://sfgiants.com [2]) play out the long summer baseball season at AT&T Park [3] (24 Willie Mays Plaza, 3rd and King Sts.). Come out to enjoy the game, the food, and the views at San Francisco’s still-shiny and new ballpark.

Giants games take place on weekdays and weekends, both day and night. It’s not hard to snag last-minute tickets to a regular season game. Oh, and be sure to check out the gourmet restaurants that ring the stadium; it wouldn’t be San Francisco without top-tier cuisine to complement a midsummer ball game.

The City plays home to the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers (www.sf49ers.com [4]). The 49ers play at Monster Park (490 Jamestown Ave.) way out away from the center of the City on Candlestick Point. This doesn’t seem to matter to “the Faithful,” the loyal fans who’ve seen the team through their dismal beginnings, rejoiced in their domination of the NFL through the 1980s and 90s, and continued to cheer as the team “rebuilds” (that is, loses a lot) in the 21st century.

Check the website for current single-ticket prices. And be sure to bring a coat to the games—the fog rolls in off the Bay and makes the park chilly and windy.
