San Francisco [1] has plenty of accommodations to suit every taste and budget. The most expensive places tend to be in Union Square [2] and SoMa [3].You’ll find the most character in the smaller “boutique” hotels, but plenty of big chain hotels have at least one site here, if you prefer a known quantity.
Be aware that many hotels in San Francisco [1] are entirely non-smoking. If you need a smoking room, you may have to hunt for one.
Parking is not included free with your hotel room, and can be excruciatingly expensive in the overnight garages. Check with your hotel to see if they have a “parking package” that takes care of this expense (and possibly offers valet service as well). Otherwise, if you don’t plan to leave the City, consider saving a bundle by using public transit.
