The Marina [1] is a great place to find a big thick steak. One famed San Francisco [2] steakhouse, Bobo’s (1450 Lombard St., 415/441-8880, www.boboquivaris.com [3], nightly 5–11 p.m., $25–40) prides itself on its dry-aged beef and fresh seafood. In season, enjoy whole Dungeness crab. But most of all, enjoy “The Steak,” thickly cut and simply prepared to enhance the flavor of the beef.
Another great house of beef is Izzy’s Steak and Chop House (3345 Steiner St., 415/563-0487, www.izzyssteaksandchops.com [4], Mon.–Thurs. 5:30–10 p.m., Fri.–Sat. 5:30–10:30 p.m., Sun. 5–10 p.m., $17–26). Here you’ll find an array of tasty steak preparations, seafood, and select non-steak entrées. Be sure to save room for one of Izzy’s classic desserts! Izzy’s has two out-of-the-City locations, in Corte Madera and San Carlos (convenient to the airport).
