A few smallish restaurants dot the town of Stinson Beach [1], most of which serve seafood. Among the best is the Sand Dollar Restaurant (3458 Hwy. 1, 415/868-0434, www.stinsonbeachrestaurant.com [2], daily lunch and dinner, $15–30). This so-called fish joint actually serves more land-based dishes than seafood, but perhaps the fact that the dining room is constructed out of three old barges makes up the differences. In addition to lunch and dinner, the Sand Dollar serves a popular Sunday brunch.
