“Artsy” isn’t a word that’s usually associated with graveyards, but in Cambria [1] it fits. The Cambria Cemetery (6005 Bridge St., 805/927-5158, www.cambriacemetery.com [2]) reflects the artistic bent of the town’s residents in its tombstone decor.
Unlike many cemeteries, at Cambria the family and friends of the deceased are allowed to place all manner of personal objects at their loved ones’ graves. You’ll see painted tombstones, beautiful panes of stained glass, unusual wind chimes, and many other unique expressions of love, devotion, and art as you wander the 12 wooded acres.
