If you prefer not to do your own driving on your wine-tasting excursions (something to consider if everyone in your party enjoys wine), take one of the many available wine tours. The Wine Wranglers (866/238-6400, http://thewinewrangler.com [1], $90–120 depending on pick-up location) offers daily group tours, plus customized individual tours for a higher fee. Experienced guides will take you to some of the biggest and best wineries in the region.
Group tour guests ride in the comfort of a small luxury bus; buses pick up tasters from Cambria [2], San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Paso Robles [3] itself, and a number of other towns in the county. A picnic lunch in one of the vineyards is included, as are all tasting fees at the wineries you visit. If you know the region, feel free to request a stop at your favorite winery!
If you prefer to tour the vineyards in the privacy of your own rented limo, book a car with At Your Service Limousine (805/239-8785, $200–325). This company offers Paso wine tours up to five hours long, with room for up to eight riders for no additional fee. Tasting fees are included with your car.
