Point Loma

Point Loma is at once one of the most beautiful and one of the most important pieces of land in the San Diego [1] region. From the tip of the point, you can see everywhere, from the Cuyamaca Mountains to the land and seas of Mexico, and down into the safe harbor of the San Diego Bay.

This fabulous view also meant a perfect place to build a defense for the harbor and the settlements beyond. Accordingly, Point Loma [2] has served more than 200 years as a military installation.

From owl limpets to soldiers’ graves, there are innumerable unique items to see in the area.
