Santa Fe [1] offers some great places to stay—historic hotels that conjure the old trading days as well as cozy, fantastically decorated bed-and-breakfasts—but none of them are very cheap. Prices quoted here for the bigger hotels are the standard rack rates—chances are, you’ll be able to find substantially lower ones just by calling or by booking online, at least at the higher-end properties.
Prices spike in July and August, often up to holiday rates; if you’re coming for Indian Market [2] or Christmas, try to book at least eight months in advance.
