Beyond Old Town [1], Downtown [2], and Nob Hill [3], Albuquerque is a haze of modern tract houses and shopping centers built during the 1960s and later—decades dubbed Albuquerque’s “Asphalt Period” by an unkind local journalist.
A few sights, particularly along the edges of the city, are well worth seeking out, however.
