The Mesquite Championship Rodeo is the real deal. Located in the suburb of Mesquite—roughly a 20-minute drive east of downtown Dallas [1]—this is a big-time professional rodeo featuring the sport’s top riders with weekly broadcasts on the Nashville Network.
The arena packs thousands of fans and families in a football-like environment every Friday and Saturday night from early April through late September. It’s well worth making a visit to experience this Western cultural tradition.
Witness time-honored events such as bareback riding, bull riding, cowgirl barrel racing, team roping, saddle bronco riding, and steer wrestling along with rodeo clowns and plenty of cowboy activity.
The arena is located in Mesquite on I-635 just off the Military Parkway exit. Tickets range from $7–30, and the arena’s barbecue buffet is $7 for kids and $11 for adults. Call 972/285-8777 for more information.
