Since Denton [1] is a college town, there are more hotel options than normal for a city of its size. Even the budget options are clean and dependable. Days Inn (4211 N. I-35, 940/383-1471, www.staydenton.com [2], $42 d) and nearby Motel 6 (4125 N. I-35E, 940/566-4798, www.motel6.com [3], $49 d) offer the basic amenities at an affordable price.
For just a bit more, the Quality Inn & Suites (1500 Dallas Dr., 940/387-3511, www.choicehotels.com [4], $74 d) provides a free hot breakfast, free Internet access, and microwaves and refrigerators in every room.
At the (slightly) higher end of the chain is Denton’s Comfort Suites (1100 N. I-35E, 940/898-8510, www.choicehotels.com [4], $89 d), which offers an indoor heated pool, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and a free hot breakfast.
Denton’s [1] tree-lined streets and collegiate atmosphere make it a good place to consider staying at a bed-and-breakfast, and one of the best choices available is the Heritage Inns Bed and Breakfast Cluster (815 N. Locust St., 888/565-6414, www.theheritageinns.com [5], $115). The Cluster consists of three separate houses, and each room features a queen-sized bed and private bath. Guests can have a full breakfast in the dining room or privately in bed. The B&B is just down the road from Denton’s courthouse square [6], and well worth the walk after a hearty Italian meal in the downstairs restaurant.
