Technically speaking, Hyannis is just one of the seven villages of the large town of Barnstable. Practically, it overshadows every other town on the cape as the hub of activity. The bars [1] and restaurants [2] are ground zero for the scores of teens and college students who descend upon the Cape each summer, while its streets throng with tourists awaiting the ferries or perusing souvenir shops [3] for just one more Cape Cod [4] sweatshirt.
