Outside of the summer season, there are plenty of reasons to visit the island—not the least of which is an absence of on-season visitors. But the Christmas Stroll Weekend (508/228-1700, website [1]) is a bona fide lure in its own right—an early December festival that sees the town’s Christmas trees lit up, theater performances, concerts, and the requisite Santa arrival.
Once the weather warms up, there’s the Daffodil Festival (508/228-1700, www.nantucketchamber.org [2]) in April, which takes over with parades of blossom-festooned antique cars and a tailgating picnic.
