For more than 50 years, some of the biggest names of Hollywood have descended upon the Williamstown Theatre Festival (413/458-3200, www.wtfestival.org [1], July–Aug., $15 for rush tickets, $20 for musical productions) to try out their acting chops on the stage. The festival stages a range of productions, from gala premieres to intimate play readings, allowing theatergoers a chance to see a different side of Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marisa Tomei, and dozens of other acclaimed actors.
