Running 11 miles from Adams to Lanesboro, the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail (413/442-8928, www.mass.gov [1]) offers up excellent scenery of Mount Greylock [2] and the Hoosac Range, as well as the salt marsh habitat of the Hoosic River. The trail starts at the Adams visitors center and ends at the Berkshire Mall. Bicycles can be rented at Berkshire Outfitters (169 Grove St., 413/743-5900, www.berkshireoutfitters.com [3], $21/day).
