Surrounded on one side by Massachusetts [1], and on the other by the ocean, the Sakonnet peninsula is the quiet corner of Rhode Island [2]. The two towns of Tiverton and Little Compton are typified by acres of flat farmland, surrounded by trim stone walls and grey-shingled farmhouses that look as if they were airlifted from Nantucket [3]. At the end of the scenic drive, Sakonnet Point is home to a pretty fishing village and marina, along with some of the most secluded beaches in the state.
