Erase all images of socks and paper bags… The puppets at the marionette Puppet Show Theater (128 Thimble Island Rd., Stony Creek, 203/488-5752, www.puppethouse.org [1], shows 7–11 p.m.; doors open at 5:30, tickets $10 unless otherwise noted) are elaborate works of art from turn-of-the-century Sicily. Collected by a local puppet aficionado, the 300-some puppets are made of steel-reinforced hardwood, complete with silk robes and brass body armor, each weighing up to 80 pounds.
Known as the Stony Creek Puppets, they perform regularly in scripts drawn from Medieval European poetry. When they are not on stage, they display their finery in the lobby.
