On the campus of Bowdoin College, the small but fascinating Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum (9500 College Station, Brunswick, 207/725-3416, http://academic.bowdoin.edu/arcticmuseum [1], 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.–Sat.; 2–5 p.m. Sun., free), traces the Arctic adventures of two Bowdoin graduates and explorers, Donald MacMillan and Robert Peary. Exhibits include stuffed arctic animals and one of the original dog sledges Peary used to “discover” the North Pole.
