Campgrounds

Missoula’s [1] private campgrounds are all close to I-90.

The sprawling Missoula KOA (3450 Tina Ave., 406/549-0881 or 800/562-5366, www.missoulakoa.com [2], all year, $32–63 RV, $26–31 tent, $45–52 cabin), complete with swimming pool and hot tub, is off I-90 at exit 101 (Reserve Street).

Jim and Mary’s RV Park (9800 Hwy. 93 N., 406/549-4416, www.jimandmarys.com [3], all year, $27–29 RV) is a Good Sam campground with no tent sites; it’s on the way out of town toward the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park [4].

The Jellystone RV Park (9900 Jellystone Ave., 406/543-9400 or 800/318-9644, www.campjellystonemt.com [5], May–Oct., $34–36 RV, $29 tent, $52 cabins) is off I-90’s exit 96 and has big pull-through sites, a pool, and a good play area.

The Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (406/542-5500, http://fwp.mt.gov [6]) operates a couple of campgrounds a little farther from town.

Chief Looking Glass (year round, $12) is on the Bitterroot River 14 miles south of Missoula on Highway 93 (to milepost 77), then one mile east on the county road.

Beavertail Hill (May–Sept., $15) is 0.25 mile south of the Beavertail Hill exit off I-90 (milepost 130, 26 miles southeast of Missoula).
