Camp on Two Medicine Lake [1] (late May–late Sept., $20; late Sept.–Oct., primitive camping $10), 12 miles from East Glacier [2] via Highway 49. During the peak summer season, campfire presentations by park naturalists and Blackfoot tribal members are held most evenings at 8 p.m.
Head west of East Glacier on Highway 2 to reach Forest Service campgrounds, which often have empty spaces when the national park campgrounds are full.
Summit Campground (www.fs.fed.us/r1/lewisclark [3], $12), near the rest area at Marias Pass [4], is 12 miles from East Glacier.
Devil’s Creek Campground (www.fs.fed.us/r1/flathead [5], $12) is another six miles southwest on Highway 2.
