For an extended jaunt, start at the camp store parking lot and head up Swiftcurrent Creek past Red Rock Falls, cross the Continental Divide at Swiftcurrent Pass, and join up with the Highline Trail [1] on the other side. It’s eight miles from the trailhead in the camp store parking lot to the Granite Park chalet [2] (and campground), and another eight miles from the chalet to Logan Pass [3].
Start at the hotel, pass Josephine and Grinnell lakes, and skirt Mt. Siyeh and Going-to-the-Sun Mountain on the 12-mile route across Piegan Pass to Going-to-the-Sun Road [4].
Geology, wildflower meadows, waterfalls, mountain goats, and big views are highlights of this hike. There are no backcountry campgrounds along this trail.
