The 50-yard city pool (1211 W. Main St., 406/587-4724, $4 adults, $2 children) is adjacent to the high school. Regular morning, noon, and evening lap swims are scheduled.
Bogert Park (303 S. Church Ave.) has an outdoor swimming pool, an ice rink, and a summertime Saturday morning farmers’ market.
Just south of Bogert Park, pick up the Gallagator Linear, a walking, running, skiing, and biking trail that runs from South Church Avenue and Storey Street to 3rd Avenue and Kagy Boulevard.
Lindley Park is just on the eastern edge of downtown, on the south side of East Main Street. The Sweet Pea Festival takes over the park early each August, and it’s a good spot for a picnic at other times. During the winter, it’s a good place for an easy cross-country ski.
