Although there aren’t any major trout streams flowing through Bozeman , the town is close enough to the Gallatin , Yellowstone , and Madison Rivers to support several good fly shops and outfitters.
Right downtown is The Bozeman Angler (23 E. Main St., 406/587-9111 or 800/886-9111, www.bozemanangler.com ).
Montana Angler Fly Fishing (76 Lucille Lane, 406/522-9854, www.montanaangler.com ) has an extensive team of guides and runs more than 500 trips per year.
River’s Edge (2012 N. 7th Ave., 406/586-5373, www.theriversedge.com ) and Montana Troutfitters (1716 W. Main St., 406/587-4707 or 800/646-7847, www.troutfitters.com ) are also convenient. Any of these shops can set you up with a guide, and each shop has good information on current fishing conditions on its website.
