For information specifically on the downhill ski area and its lodgings, contact Big Sky Resort Association (406/995-5000 or 800/548-4486, www.bigskyresort.com [1]).
General area information is available from the Big Sky Chamber of Commerce (406/995-3000 or 800/943-4111, www.bigskychamber.com [2]).
Big Sky’s medical clinic is at the base of the Mountain Village (406/995-2797).
Bozeman’s [3] Gallatin Field is the closest airport.
During the ski season Karst Stage (406/388-2293 or 800/287-4759, www.karststage.com [4]) runs a shuttle from the airport to Big Sky. Reservations are required; fare is $45–50 one-way. During the spring, summer, and fall, Karst discontinues their regular shuttle service between the airport and Big Sky but does provide transportation in a custom van.
Another good option, and the best bet during the spring, summer, and fall, is Mountain Taxi (406/995-4895 or 800/423-4742, www.bigskytaxi.com [5]). They charge $140 for a single person in a van and $5 more for each additional person up to a total of four. Groups of five or more people pay $40 per person.
Shuttle buses (www.skylinebus.com [6]) run frequently between Big Sky’s Meadow and Mountain villages.
