Knoxville’s [1] old market square has been given new life thanks to downtown redevelopment over the past 20 years. Once a dirty and depressing corner of the city, Market Square
is alive again with commerce. Restaurants, boutiques, and nightclubs populate the square. It is the venue for the city’s farmer’s market, on Saturday and Wednesday during the summer, and it is a popular location for outdoor events and concerts, like Sundown in the City [2], a free summer concert series.
Come here to people-watch or to soak up some of Knoxville’s [1] youthful downtown vibe.
Find Market Square near the intersection of Market Street and Union Avenue, just a few blocks behind Gay Street [3]. It is within easy walking distance of downtown attractions.
