You can drive Ski Mountain Road up to Ober Gatlinburg (865/436-5423, www.obergatlinburg.com [1]), but most people prefer to take the aerial tramway (adults $9.50, children 7–11 $6.50) that departs from 1001 Parkway.
Ober Gatlinburg’s slopes are not spectacular, but they are good for beginners. In addition to skiing (adults $15–43, seniors and children 7–11 $20–33) you can enjoy year-round ice skating ($8), a black bear habitat ($2), and amusements such as an arcade, go-karts ($6), and mini-golf ($3).
