Located on the northeastern side of the Great Smoky Mountains [1], Cosby [2] is a rural town with services and accommodations for visitors. From the Cosby entrance to the park, you can explore Cosby [3] campground and picnic area, or hike to Hen Wallow Falls [4], Mount Cammerer, or join up with the Appalachian Trail.
Historically, Cosby was known as a moonshiner’s town. Today, it is home to artists and craftsmen. Near Cosby, the town of Hartford is noted for white-water rafting, and Newport is a center for commerce in the area.
