If all you have is a long weekend, don’t despair. This get-away itinerary is the perfect blend of excitement and restoration.
Arrive in Nashville [1]. If you’ve flown in, rent a car. Check into a downtown hotel, such as the Hermitage [2], the Hilton [3], or the Union Station [3]. Eat dinner downtown at the elegant Capitol Grill [4] and then make your first night one you’ll remember: head to Music Valley and catch the Grand Ole Opry [5].
Sleep in after your night out, and then fuel up with breakfast at the legendary Pancake Pantry [6] in Hillsboro Village. Take a tour of the Mother Church of Country Music, Ryman Auditorium [7], where the Grand Ole Opry was born. See the evening show at the the Bluebird Cafe [8], where you just might catch the next big star on their way up.
Soak up some of Nashville’s history by spending the day at The Hermitage [9]. Explore the home and the grounds of this estate belonging to Andrew Jackson, and learn about how a 19th-century plantation worked. On your last night in town, treat yourself to dinner at F. Scott’s [10], a jazz club and superb restaurant.
