Cuba pulsates with the Afro-Latin spirit, be it energy-charged Las Vegas-style cabarets or someone’s home-based celebration (called cumbanchas, or rumbas), where drummers beat out thumping rhythms and partners dance overtly sexual changüí numbers. And noches cubanas take place in most towns on Saturday nights, when bars and discos are set up alfresco and the street is cleared for dancing.
That said, Cuba’s nocturnal entertainment scene is a far cry from days of yore and in many locales you are hard-pressed to find any signs of life.
