Undoubtedly the best view of the Seattle [1] skyline is from a window-side seat in
Salty’s on Alki (1936 Harbor Ave. SW, 206/937-1600, www.saltys.com [2], 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. and 5–9 p.m. Mon.–Fri., 9 a.m.–1 p.m. and 4–9 p.m. Sat.–Sun., $30). Situated on West Seattle’s [3] Alki Point, this offers the choicest glimpse of the glimmering lights reflected off Eliott Bay.
Best of all, the food is worthy of the view, with plenty of seafood offerings and a few decent cuts of meat thrown in for good measure. On Saturday and Sunday, Salty’s lays out the best brunch buffet in Seattle, with unlimited platters of shellfish, prime rib, and pastries all served up with your choice of mimosas or Bloody Marys.
If that all sounds a little extravagant to you, then try another West Seattle classic, Spud Fish and Chips (2666 Alki Ave. SW, 206/938-0606, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily), which has been frying up fishies by Alki Beach [4] since 1935.
