Just two blocks from downtown Edmonds [1] is the Edmonds Marsh, a haven for wildlife of all kinds. It’s an amazing little piece of the natural world where blackbirds, herons, ducks, and crows feed in an enclave hidden from the suburban development that surrounds it. A boardwalk overlooks the marsh and provides an excellent path for walkers and joggers.
The popular Interurban Trail is an 11-mile paved path that follows an old railroad route across Lynnwood and continues north all the way to Everett [2]. Or get the locals to give you a tour—visit the shoe store Running in Motion (610 Main St., Ste. B, 425/774-0637) at 8:30 a.m. Sunday to join its free weekly runs around town.
