Lots of events take place in tiny Coupeville [1], starting with the Penn Cove Mussel Festival the first weekend of March, with scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and mussel cooking competitions.
The Penn Cove Water Festival in early May includes canoe races, arts and crafts, kayak events, and entertainment.
The Coupeville Arts and Crafts Festival on the second weekend in August features a juried art show that attracts participants from across the Northwest, plus arts and crafts exhibits, food, music, and entertainment.
On Sundays in July and August, Concerts on the Cove (360/678-4684) are held in the Town Park pavilion, featuring a wide variety of music.
The Coupeville Farmers Market (8th and Main Sts., 360/678-6757) is held 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday April–mid-October.
If you’re here the second weekend in October, don’t miss the Harvest Festival, with music, food booths, a giant pumpkin contest, scarecrows, an art and antique auction, and flea market.
On the first Saturday of December, the Greening of Coupeville is a popular craft bazaar and tree-lighting festival. A number of historical homes are open for this event and also for a Home Tour on the first Saturday in August (360/678-3310).
