Camping is not allowed at Point Defiance Park [1], but head north to the city of Federal Way for Dash Point State Park [2], with year-round sites for both tents ($14) and RVs ($20). More campsites are located at Kopachuck State Park [3], 12 miles northwest of Tacoma, and Penrose Point State Park [4], approximately 20 miles west of Tacoma on the Key Peninsula [4].
