The history of former mill towns Port Madison and Port Blakely is preserved in exhibits and displays at the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum (215 Ericksen Ave. NE, 206/842-2773, www.bainbridgehistory.org [1], 1–4 p.m. Wed.–Mon., 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Sat. in summer, $2.50 adults, $1.50 students and seniors, $5 family, kids under 5 free) in Strawberry Hill Park. The building itself offers a blast from the past; it’s a charming little red schoolhouse.
