The 4th of July brings music at the pier, kids’ events, and a big fireworks show off the beach.
The Clallam County Fair comes to Port Angeles [1] the third weekend of August, with a carnival, rodeo, horse shows, farming exhibits, and a crowd-pleasing smash-’em-up demolition derby.
Each Memorial Day weekend, the Juan de Fuca Festival (360/457-5411, www.juandefucafestival.com [2]) features a wide range of music, dance, comedy, kids’ activities, arts and crafts, food, and more.
For something a bit less formal, free Concerts on the Pier (360/452-2363) take place every Thursday evening mid-June to mid-September.
Another popular event is the Forest Storytelling Festival (360/417-5031), which attracts tale-tellers from the U.S. and Canada in late September or early October.
End the year in style with a visit to the Christmas Crafts Fair on the first weekend of December, where local artisans display their works.
